Career Objective
I am a conscientious graduate with meticulous research skills and economic experience. I have the ability to solve complex analytical problems, possess strong communication skills, and have the methodical organisation required to see projects through to completion. I am accurate, patient, self-motivated and good at listening. I can also work well under pressure and within a team, accept criticism, compromise, generate new ideas and am keen to utilise these characteristics in future opportunities.

BA (Honours) Economics Degree Class: 2 : 1 University of Northumbria, Newcastle I was awarded Northern Rock prize for the Best Overall Performance on my degree programme over a sustained three year period. Final year dissertation project on the analysis of Central Bank Independence. I analysed the theory behind the employment of independent central banks and the various consequences of their implementation throughout various economic climates. Communication and Organisation skills
As an elected Course Representative I attended committee meetings to discuss issues raised by fellow students about the course. This required the ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with students and senior academic staff alike.
I have given frequent single/group presentations on various issues which require excellent oral communication and presentational skills. Numerous group assessments have required a vast amount of teamwork and leadership ability. Various extracurricular activities also required the ability to communicate tactfully and effectively.
I am able to establish rapport with strangers, clearly explaining and expressing ideas in an appropriate style, through work experiences and various activities within university.
Method development
Throughout my degree I used models and methodologies to think about the world and specific issues, which sometimes required knowledge of math's including statistics, human behaviour and trends. I am able to interpret figures and have excellent problem solving skills.
IT skills
I have:
Extensive experience of Windows and Windows-based programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and FrontPage.
Produced high quality reports and assignments.
Created and maintained personal web pages and FTP sites.
Intermediate experience of econometric based programs such as E-Views and journal-search databases.
Retail and Administration skills
Able to serve customers, providing advice and guidance where necessary in order to maximise store income, while also maintaining an excellent standard of customer service.
Can operate tills and credit card machines while ensuring that all transactions are carried out accurately at all times. Counting the money taken at the end of the day and able to complete till sheets quickly and accurately.
Able to maintain a good quality appearance of a shop floor, ensuring that it is always clean and tidy and that the displays are attractive, while maintaining stock and keeping accurate stock records where necessary.
Competent at answers telephones and handle routine customer telephone inquiries. Able to undertake any other activities as are necessary for the smooth operation of a store.
Regularly able to achieve strict personal and general sales targets to a high level.
I have a strong desire to keep up-to-date with current affairs on a micro and macro scale, be it political, economic or financial in nature. Economic policies and their implementation are of interest to me. I have a general fitness interest which includes swimming and playing football. Computer systems and their component ‘makeup’ are of interest to me, being a frequent PC user for many years.
